Cabela's  is a great outdoor store. Many of you may think this is just an outdoor store, but it is a huge showroom of educational and entertainment attraction. Anyone can spend several hours in the enormous 230,000  sq. ft. showroom. It has a museum , an artificial mountain, a rock climbing wall, an aquarium filled with native fish, an arcade, and a restaurant. I love outdoor store, animals and sports activities. I have wanted to go ever since I saw it in the news. Finally, one Sunday we decided to go to Cabela's . It is located near the state highway 170 and I-35 W. It took forty-five minutes to get there.

When we got there, I was so excited. Right in front of the store was bronze statue of a cowboy. When first went in I saw the mountain. The mountain was cover a hundred or so stuffed taxidermy animals. On it was a small stream going down to the foot of the mountain. At the bottom of the huge indoor mountain was a coldwater pool filled with average sized salmon. In the pool of salmon not only there were regular salmon, but as well mutant varieties. Some of the mutated salmon were white, yellow and blue. We then strode over to aquarium. The aquarium had some interesting fish as well. There were gigantic catfish, the size of an average seven year old.

There was huge award winning bass swimming around there were driftwood homes. There was a large alligator snapping turtle in a different tank from the rest of the fish. There also was trout. carp , pike, muskellunge, sunfish and perch. When we got out of the aquarium we went to the fishing area. There was a myriad of fishing poles, gears, tackles, lures and baits. There even was primitive fishing gear, such as bamboo poles, fish traps, casting nets, gigs, gaffs and barbed spears. There was fishing bows. As we passed a counter I saw squirming buckets of slimy bait. We then went to hunting section, which has the mounted heads and bodies of deer, antelope, buffalo, bison, mountain goats hippos, and boars. Also on display were the guns and bows that were used to take them down. As we walked by we saw a brief history of hunting. It was called stones to guns.

We then decided to go to the marine section. On the way o the marine section was a life sized diorama of an African savannah. The diorama has lions and that were stuffed and they were real lions. The diorama also had zebra, hippos, crocs, deer and an elephant. All of the were stuffed of course except the elephant that was definitely a fake. When we went in the marine section we saw a display of boats.

There were portable boats, sail boats, inflatable boats, bass boats and john boats all on display. We then went upstairs. Upstairs was a room furnished by strange outdoor -related furniture. There were rug made from the hide of sheep and bears. There were chairs and stools made from branches of trees twisted by the sun, rain, wind and ice. There were sofas with lions, tigers, elephants and deer on them. As we walked from the room I saw the restaurant. I then looked down on the mountain. I know saw that the mountain, instead of only having a mountainside also had tundra, forest and a desert. We then walked down camping section . We started looking in the test. Only then I noticed the shooting arcade. The store was closing so may parents forced me to go home. I reluctantly went. I hope I can come again soon.

This picture shows that Cabela's also helps conserve game in spite of supporting hunting. The do this so there will be more animals to hunt. They support a number of animal preservation and conservation organizations.
