|
I
am a veteran
|
| A
long forgotten soldier |
| When
I was young |
| I
was called to duty |
| To
serve my country |
| To
bring out my inner courage |
| To
prove to my country loyalty. |
| |
|
I
shed blood and took bullets
|
|
But
I kept on fighting
|
| For
my country. |
| |
|
I
suffered the unbearable pain of killing
|
| But
it was for a cause |
| To
insure my country |
| And
my people security and peace. |
| |
| Many
of my brave, loyal brothers died |
| But
not in vain |
| They
served their part |
| And
I served mine. |
| The
same courage, loyalty and honesty |
| That
flowed through my vein seventy years ago, |
| Still
does today. |
| |
| And
you know what I got in return ? |
| Three
purple hearts. |
| I
am a veteran. |
