He of course is heart-broken and bankrupt too, so he enrolls as a school teacher at a kiddy school and starts romancing a local wench to work on his romantic lines for the contest ,mean while they visit nightclubs and discos which all are badly lit, as like Hrithik and Shammi, Shahid is an average dancer too, and he needs umpteen body doubles, who you cannot discern in natural light, doing his somersaults and head whirls, and than tragedy strikes as there is a problem with dad in Delhi and the dear and dreary son must do his duty and sacrifice his dance career.
The dad has never seen TV till the problem arose with his illegal encroachment of a shop, so he watches his son dance on TV and pronounces him 'chuk de pathe' and sends him packing back to Mumbai.
This is a sheer waste of valuable time and film stock and worst it makes Shahid look like a pale imitation of the true great dancing legends of Indian screen –Govinda –Mithun Chakraborty and I cannot understand how can you make a dance musical without a single decent track or dance.

A youth arrives in Mumbai with stars in his eyes to become the next superstar, and behold it is only Shahid kapoor, he is a pretentious dancer
who compares himself in delusional gusts to FRED ASTAIRE-GENE KELLY who he has the gumption to compare to Shammi Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, two men who cannot dance perpetually in a shot exceeding 13 seconds on screen.
Next he gets a chance to dance in a planned Bolly dance epic, while doing some silly advertisements as a struggling youth who wears foreign designer clothes, and drives a car and lends money to every tom dick and harry in Bombay.
But the bad and evil producer ditches him wisely and sensibly, after he has had a wardrobe made to measure, as he only had a honorable contract which he never put on a paper, instead they arrange a reality TV show to launch their dance epic where contestants will act and dance to allure the public and this will extend the movie torture for 2 more hours.
